For the fourth consecutive year, we have launched the measurement of our Carbon Footprint, corresponding to the 2025 reporting year, following the internationally recognized GHG Protocol methodology.<\/p>\n<p>This process enables us to identify and quantify the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions associated with our activities, analyze their evolution, and obtain reliable information to continue progressing toward our emissions reduction goals.<\/p>\n<p>But what exactly is the GHG Protocol, and why has it become a leading framework for companies worldwide?<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"mt-6 mb-2 font-semibold text-2xl\" data-streamdown=\"heading-2\">What Is the GHG Protocol?<\/h2>\n<p>The GHG Protocol (Greenhouse Gas Protocol) is an international framework for measuring and managing greenhouse gas emissions. It was developed by the World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD).<\/p>\n<p>Its methodology provides companies and organizations with common criteria for accounting for and reporting their emissions in a structured and transparent manner.<\/p>\n<p>Using this framework, organizations can better understand where their emissions come from, identify their main sources of environmental impact, and use this information as a starting point for developing effective emissions reduction strategies.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"mt-6 mb-2 font-semibold text-2xl\" data-streamdown=\"heading-2\">How Does the GHG Protocol Classify Emissions?<\/h2>\n<p>One of the key elements of the GHG Protocol is the classification of greenhouse gas emissions into three main categories, known as Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"list-inside list-disc whitespace-normal\" data-streamdown=\"unordered-list\">\n<li class=\"\">\ud83c\udfe2 Scope 1: Direct emissions from sources owned or controlled by the organization.<\/li>\n<li class=\"\">\u26a1 Scope 2: Indirect emissions associated with the generation of energy purchased and consumed by the company, such as electricity.<\/li>\n<li class=\"\">\ud83d\udd17 Scope 3: Other indirect emissions generated throughout the organization&#8217;s value chain, which may include purchased goods and services, business travel, employee commuting, suppliers, and other categories.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Analyzing these three scopes provides a broader understanding of the relationship between business activities and their associated greenhouse gas emissions.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"mt-6 mb-2 font-semibold text-2xl\" data-streamdown=\"heading-2\">Why Is Measuring a Company&#8217;s Carbon Footprint Important?<\/h2>\n<p>Measuring a company&#8217;s Carbon Footprint goes beyond obtaining a figure for the emissions generated. It is a valuable tool for understanding the environmental impact of business activities and making data-driven decisions.<\/p>\n<p>This information helps organizations identify their main sources of emissions, establish priorities, and define measures aimed at reducing their environmental impact. Regular measurement also makes it possible to track results over time and assess the effectiveness of the actions implemented.<\/p>\n<p>Carbon Footprint measurement therefore provides a foundation for moving toward more efficient and sustainable business models: first, we understand our impact; then, based on that information, we can take action to reduce it.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"mt-6 mb-2 font-semibold text-2xl\" data-streamdown=\"heading-2\">Four Years of Measuring Our Carbon Footprint<\/h2>\n<p>For METRICA, 2025 marks the fourth consecutive reporting year in which we have measured our Carbon Footprint.<\/p>\n<p>Maintaining this process over time allows us to incorporate a long-term perspective into our environmental analysis, monitor our progress, and identify new opportunities for improvement.<\/p>\n<p>This initiative is part of our commitment to integrating sustainability into our business strategy and promoting environmental management based on measurement, analysis, and continuous improvement.<\/p>\n<p>We have also recently shared educational content on METRICA&#8217;s social media channels about the GHG Protocol and our 2025 Carbon Footprint.
